The last of a dying breed; Matt Branscombe is a professional photographer and graphic designer with years of experience and education to back him up. In an age of Craigslist wedding photographers, Matt Branscombe works to keep the art and business of photography alive by educating clients and photographers about the advantages of hiring an experienced professional vs. a hobbyist photographer.

Although not one for labels, Matt’s style is that of a photojournalist. His unique yet photojournalists’ style is can be seen in all aspects of his photography from high fashion to weddings.

Since the creation of BSC Photo in late 2008 an overwhelming response has made Matt Branscombe and BSC Photo one of the most sought after wedding photographers in Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York. His photography is a large part of his success but it’s his charisma that is instantly noticed by his clients and their guests which makes him such a huge success at every wedding he shoots. In just a short time Matt is accepted by everyone and thought of as a friend or guest not a hired stiff sticking a camera in everyone’s face. The comfort of his clients is a huge priority, with comfort comes true emotion, the mainstay of a photojournalist. Matt is also one of very few photographers that will still shoot a wedding or event in film with great confidence, upon request.

While educated in photography Matt continues to attend seminars, study new techniques and keep up on the newest technology in professional equipment. While professional equipment is a necessity for a professional photographer, Matt is from the school of thought that a good picture comes from the photographer not the camera.

Roger’s artistic side is primarily in travel photography. An insatiable urge to see the world brings forth dramatic landscapes and scenes from that span cultures and mountains. Mostly digital, he specializes in creating elaborate panoramic images both of exterior and interior spaces.

Heather’s work tends to be more of the human element. She captures the actions and movements of everyday life that rarely are appreciated. Still an avid film user, she often spends her time in the studio taking portraits with her large format. Also with a passion for travel, Heather and Roger work very well together at home, and abroad.

Commercially they offer a wide array of photography services, including food and product photos, senior portraits, lifestyle and baby portraits, head shots, and especially events and weddings.

If you know Simsbury, an affluent suburb of Hartford and center of the Insurance industry, you might think they were successful. Instead, these guys work the sorts of jobs usually reserved for immigrants. The band is composed of Dorian Fenczak, Karl Bad Manners, Mr. Chris, and Hank Marduk Harlott III., Jr. Dorian, a former figure skater and pizza man, sings and plays guitar. Burke formerly of The Spicy Gribblets plays bass. Mr. Chris, a reprobate, plays the drums and likes cars, and Hank Marduk Harlott III, jr., the newest member of the band, adds an impressive lead guitar and a brooding/retarded country style. Their name comes from a Kurt Vonneguts book Breakfast of Champions, where its the name of a fictional group that later becomes real. Thats what the Gang is all about. Pluto Gang was started in the summer of 2001, when Dorian reformed his old high school band. He had been playing hardcore, but grew tired of always pretending to be angry, and wanted to return to music where he could sing about being happy about being sad about girls. The band quickly started playing shows and recording demos, and changing members, until clicking together as their current line up for the recording of their first full-length album, The Triumph of Sisyphus, which is now distributed to every Hot Topic in CT and parts of Mass. Pluto Gang has opened for Murphys Law, The Alkaline Trio, Against Me, The Living End, the Dickies, DOA, Less than Jake,10 Foot Pole, the Gamits, the Queers, Social Distortion, The Slackers, Flogging Molly, Tiger Army, mc chris, Two Skinny Jays, and Jim. They have played Bitch Mountain Bash ( Lake Placid) 3 consecutive years as well as playing bars and clubs throughout southern New England. They have toured in Upstate New York, and the South. They played at the Warped Tour in Philadelphia in 2004, Warped Tour 2005 PA. and marketed themselves at approximately a third of the other tour dates that same year. Their live show usually consists of 10 to 15 songs done back to back in a blistering ½ hour set, with novel pop-culture references in each performance of their song Book Boy and occasional covers. The band is now eight songs into writing their new album, which will focus on girls, alienation, and medieval zombies. Their music has been used in the independent film Save the Forest, from Up on the Roof productions, and used on the Outdoor Networks coverage of the Gravity Games. They just bought a new van that broke on its maiden voyage and are eagerly waiting for the luck fairy to sh*t on them again.
