When waxing emotionally nostalgic through the pages of a wedding album, it is not uncommon to find that the most intensely warm memories are triggered by the strangest, most subtle things. The lens of Photographer Airen Miller has provided a close up for all of those intrinsically meaningful subtleties, and encapsulates the perfect love, euphoria, innocence and youthfulness inherent in any wedding day.

Miller’s work, which connects modern art sensitivity and an eye for lush colors with photojournalistic sensibilities, can be described as at once vibrant and elegant as it is haunting, and has been included in several publications including Connecticut Bride and Hartford Magazine, with a recent feature on The Today Show with Kathy Lee Gifford.

Use of lighting and shadow grant his photography a kind of surreal, noir-like ambiance, while the various askew angles capture the conceptual uniqueness of the backdrops making place a story teller, as if every light, stone tower and weathered oak tree exists to accentuate the experience of the bride and groom.

There is an air of distance to many of Miller’s subjects, as though while physically in front of his camera they have channeled some perfectly intimate and euphoric, however transient place some immeasurable distance away. His photography freezes that place and contains it in all of its depth and intensity.

Airan’s photography extends far beyond wedding vows and chapel bells. His work also chronicles years of travel. Around the world he captures that same opaque uniqueness and conceptual nuance with the same attention to bright, saturating colors.

Miller additionally branches out with energy and style to celebrity photography, as he recently worked a photo shoot of up and coming Long Island based, leather clad indie rock singer Gina Cutillo in New York City. The shoot coincides with the release of Cutillo’s third album.

In an age of Craigslist wedding photographers, Matt Branscombe works to keep the art and business of photography alive by educating clients and photographers about the advantages of hiring an experienced professional vs. a hobbyist photographer.

Although not one for labels, Matt’s style is that of a photojournalist. His unique yet photojournalists’ style is can be seen in all aspects of his photography from high fashion to weddings.

Since the creation of BSC Photo in late 2008 an overwhelming response has made Matt Branscombe and BSC Photo one of the most sought after wedding photographers in Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York. His photography is a large part of his success but it’s his charisma that is instantly noticed by his clients and their guests which makes him such a huge success at every wedding he shoots. In just a short time Matt is accepted by everyone and thought of as a friend or guest not a hired stiff sticking a camera in everyone’s face. The comfort of his clients is a huge priority, with comfort comes true emotion, the mainstay of a photojournalist. Matt is also one of very few photographers that will still shoot a wedding or event in film with great confidence, upon request.

While educated in photography Matt continues to attend seminars, study new techniques and keep up on the newest technology in professional equipment. While professional equipment is a necessity for a professional photographer, Matt is from the school of thought that a good picture comes from the photographer not the camera.

Roger’s artistic side is primarily in travel photography. An insatiable urge to see the world brings forth dramatic landscapes and scenes from that span cultures and mountains. Mostly digital, he specializes in creating elaborate panoramic images both of exterior and interior spaces.

Heather’s work tends to be more of the human element. She captures the actions and movements of everyday life that rarely are appreciated. Still an avid film user, she often spends her time in the studio taking portraits with her large format. Also with a passion for travel, Heather and Roger work very well together at home, and abroad.

Commercially they offer a wide array of photography services, including food and product photos, senior portraits, lifestyle and baby portraits, head shots, and especially events and weddings.
