Catherine Grant-Magro is a student, freelance writer and aspiring novelist. Before moving from Connecticut, she was a student at Eastern Connecticut State University but ultimately earned her Associate of Arts in Communications degree from University of Phoenix. She will continue in the spring with her education at UOP to obtain her Bachelors of Arts in Communications. Catherine is taking a break from classes to work on her first novel, a young adult fantasy that she hopes to get published in 2011, and write more freelance work to develop her portfolio. Catherine is an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy. Her influences include George R.R. Martin, Stephen King, Terry Brooks, Jim Butcher, Orson Scott Card, C.S. Lewis, Madeline L’Engle and Roald Dahl. She loves cooking, baking and occasionally paints watercolor when no one is looking. She grew up in Bristol and recently moved back to the area from Rochester, New York after a five year absence. Catherine is employed at FM Facility Maintenance in Hartford as a Customer Service Representative.
